Reid, John B.
John B. Reid
currently serves as chair of the Cultural and Societal Studies Department
at Truckee Meadows Community College. He was born and reared in Reno, Nevada and received B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1987 and 1990, respectively. He then attended Michigan State University, where he received his Ph.D. degree under the tutelage of Darlene Clark Hine and David Robinson. His specialty in this program was Race and Race relations in the United States with a strong minor in African history.
Dr. Reid has published several articles and encyclopedia entries on his areas of research. Uncovering Nevada's Past: A Primary Source History of the Silver State
was a joint project with Ron James of the State Department of Historic Preservation.
